So we all understand MVP is a regular season award. But still looks weird to give the award to a guy that will likely not only get bounced in the 1st round but could possibly lose in 5 games or less.

Just give it to Giannis. 27 and already getting the Jordan treatment. Who is the best player besides Giannis award.

Yes. Just that the MVP favorite has guided his team to the 6th seed and a 1st round exit.

He will win it. Then when they get bounced 1st round we will hear how voters regretted voting for him.

Just saying this is exactly how it will play out. He will probably average something like 22/10/10 and they will lose in 5.

I get it. He is playing with next to nothing besides him. Went for 41/17/4 last game and still get blown out the door at home; and against of all teams the spurs.

An important game for both teams.

MVP voters know the nuggets arent gonna do squat in the playoffs.

But they had a good year and Jokic was a STUD

The biggest question is what happens for the all NBA team. You can only pick 1 Center. Do u pick Jokic or Embiid?

Some are going to try to list 1 of those players as a forward

ESPN's straw poll several days ago put Jokic ahead by a comfortable margin in the MVP race. That is why he is now -300 when before Embiid was the favorite. Thursday's games didn't help Embiid. The Sixers lost while the Nuggets won. Now that the Sixers can no longer improve their seeding they are probably going to rest Embiid and Harden. The Sixers lost the last few weeks to the top teams. The Nets, Suns, Bucks and Raptors. That hurts Embiid because he has both Harden and Maxey on the team. The Nuggets basically have no one except Jokic and he put them in the playoffs. If the Sixers had played well down the stretch and secured the top seed it might have made a difference in the MVP. Embiid has really been campaigning for it. That is not a good look. You don't tell the voters and say what more can I do. I haven't heard Jokic say anything in regard to the MVP.

Jokic is the first ever member of the 2,000 point club, 1,000 rebound club, and 500 assist club

Yeah, he's getting that hardware

If it makes you feel better, they will NOT be doing the MVP presentation during one of his pregames as the nuggets will be eliminated by then

The Sixers can still actually improve their seeding and not have to play Toronto in first round. They play the Pacers and Pistons at home to close the season. The Celtics have to play Memphis Grizzlies. The key here is the Grizzlies want to get Ja Morant one game in the regular season with the full squad before the playoffs. If Ja is healthy enough from his sore knee he is playing on Sunday at home against Celtics. The Sixers and Celtics play at the same time. The Celtics want to hold to their playoff position and play Bulls. No one wants to play the Raptors even with home court. They are very capable of beating the Sixers or Celtics in a 7 game series. They beat the Sixers last night without Van Fleet and Anunoby. If Embiid has two huge games and moves up in seeding maybe it makes the MVP balloting closer. He is definitely going to play both games with the Sixers still having a legitimate chance to not play the Raptors. It's very significant because Thybulle didn't take the shot and will not be permitted to play game 3&4 in Canada. The Sixers want to play the Bulls in the first round.
